Pulaski United FC U12 Boys, 2010 Spring

For those who may not have run across them yet, there is a new regional program based in Waynesville, called Pulaski United FC. The Pulaski United Futbol Club U12 Boys enjoyed a fantastic inaugural season at Lake Country Soccer Club in Springfield, MO, and should be proud of their history they have begun.

Comprised of players throughout Pulaski County, the U12B completed the Fall League Season undefeated finishing 8-0, scoring 56 goals and only allowing 4. They also competed in the Incredible Pizza Tournament in Springfield, comprised of many teams throughout the state and region. Competing in the Gold Division, the U12B finished 1-1-1. Special thanks goes to coaches Jeff Norman and Brandon McCombs, to Julio Reyes, Director of Player Development, Pulaski United Futbol Club, and to the players for an unforgettable first season.

Julio, and his brother Maximo , run United Soccer Training Academy in Waynesville.

Pulaski County Soccer Focuses On The Kids

nelsonmorgan1989From the Waynesville Daily Guide comes this story: Kiwanis Club won’t pursue soccer program

After announcing its departure from the Community Joint Recreation Board and plans to start its own soccer program, the Kiwanis Club has decided it won’t pursue the endeavor after all.

The newest announcement by the club, made Tuesday, Jan. 5, cited a recent decision by the Community Joint Recreation Board to continue its own soccer program.

A statement from the Kiwanis Club said Kiwanis members believe operating two soccer programs will create a division of youth in the area, and has the potential to make the registration period confusing.

“Kiwanis members would like to thank all players, coaches, parents and supporters for over 22 years of soccer in the area,” the statement said.

It’s nice to see the adults behaving like adults and making decisions in the kids best interest. It reminds me of the excellent experiences I had as a member of Key Club in High School in Honolulu. Well done ladies and gentlemen.

In addition to the Youth Soccer program, there is now a pair of Select Programs available in Pulaski County Missouri targeted to traveling teams and advanced training. Check out Pulaski United FC and the training programs offered by the Reyes brothers at United Soccer Training Academy.

Pulaski United FC Ready To Compete

pulaskiunited_150The Waynesville Daily Guide got out to visit with the newest club soccer program in Southwest Missouri. Pulaski United FC recently held tryouts and have established their Fall goals.

“To have 120 try out, we’d call that a success,” said PUFC vice-president David Lowe. “It’s a milestone, especially since we just officially started the club in January.”

The club has enough players now for three boys teams (U10, U12 and U14) and two girls teams (U14 and U16) in the fall season.

Lowe says that four of the teams will compete in the Lake Country Soccer League in Springfield. The girls U16 squad will play in the Central Missouri Soccer League in Jefferson City.

More information on the club can be found on their website.

Pulaski United FC Lady Hawks Spring Wrap Up

Both of the Lady Hawks girl’s competitive soccer teams competed in the Spring Outdoor season at Lake Country Soccer Complex in Springfield, MO.

96-97 Lady HawksThe younger Lady Hawks 95/96 finished up league play by losing their first game 0-2 to JB Marine of Springfield and tying the Lady Lakers of Camdenton 2-2 in their hard fought final game. The scoring came on unassisted goals by forward Chelsey Howser and midfielder Nique DuBois. The defense was consistently good throughout the season due the efforts of goalies Darby Price and Whitney Weems, sweeper Camia Blash, stopper Elizabeth Sisson, and fullbacks Morgan Malik, Meghann Hogue, Haley Harr and Alexis Goodwill. In addition to Chelsey Howser, forwards Alexus Lemasters, Katie Gaddis and Kaley Caracci contributed significantly to the Lady Hawks attack. The midfield chores were more than adequately handled by Kathleen Anderson, Hannah Wiley, Taylor Winking, Elyssia Lucio, Meg Anderson and, the aforementioned, Nique DuBois. The Lady hawks 95/96 finished third in the eight team LCS U14 Girls Red Division and are coached by Jeff Anderson and Mike Keeling.

94-95 ChampsThe senior Lady Hawks 94/95 captured the LCS U14 Girls Blue Division with two victories. They defeated Total Demize of Springfield, 4-1, in the first game on goals by forwards Emilee Starnes and Bailey Dent (2) and by midfielder Rhiannon “Scooter” Moore. Assists were provided by forwards Janelle Miller and Emilee Starnes as well as by midfielders Scooter Moore and Bohannon Rafter. The second win of the day was a 2-0 besting of the Rolla Lady Knights. Scoring came on unassisted goals by Scooter Moore and Emilee Starnes. While capable on the attack, the Lady Hawks success was most certainly due to their ability to keep their opponents from scoring, allowing only four goals scored during the eight game season. The defensive game was managed by goalies Lesley Larson and Ashley Tillott, sweeper Jourdan Kilthau, stopper Chantelle DuBois, and fullbacks Kellsey Skelton, Kaitlyn Winking and Mikalah Moise. In addition to Moore and Rafter, the tough midfield was manned by Izzy Paolicelli, Randi Secules, Kim Pryor, Alexys Hood and Sydney Hogue. The trio of Miller, Starnes and Dent provided the league’s highest scoring set of forwards. They are coached by Jon Moore and Dave Neeley.

The Lady Hawks will finish play for the year at the Show-Me State Games in July and then become part of the newly formed Pulaski United FC.
