Rolla scored in the 15th minute on a goal by senior center midfielder Olivia Cox. Rolla out-shot Camdenton 5-1 in the first 40 minutes. Katelyn Maddy scored an insurance goal for the Bulldogs on a corner kick in the 15th minute of the second half.
The Lady Lakers finish the soccer season with a 17-7-1 overall record.

The Lady Jays scored in the first two minutes, the first of four goals in the first half in a 7-0 blanking of the Waynesville Lady Tigers
Jeff City (16-6) and Rolla (12-9-2) are scheduled to play the Final on Thursday at 6 pm. If the weather allows 
The winner moves on to the Sectional next Tuesday against the winner of Rock Bridge vs Troy Buchanan.
Thursday Ozarks Conference Soccer

Rolla Bulldogs – 1
The Bulldogs bounced back from their first ever loss to Parkview on Tuesday with the Conference win at Kickapoo this evening. An even affair that looked like it might go to PKs was decided in the 63rd minute when senior Olivia Cox created her own opportunity. An initial attack into the box by senior Kaylyn Stoll was cleared towards the fans where Olivia picked it up, looked for a pass and then split a pair of defender’s before running into the right side of the box. Her shot 12 yards from the endline on the right edge of the box had just enough to get over the keeper’s reach and settled into the far side netting.
After a first half that didn’t generate a significant opportunity, the Chiefs came out and put significant pressure on the Bulldogs in the second half, creating half a dozen corner kicks as well as several set pieces from outside the box. That continued after the Bulldogs scored as they concentrated on defending their lead and the Chiefs pressed to equalize. Between senior sweeper Taylor Banholzer and keeper Adrian Pogue, the Bulldogs were able to maintain a clean sheet, a necessity in a season that has seen them outscored 4-6 with a 3-2 record now. This is a team that gave up only 12 goals all last Spring so it was an important step and the players satisfaction with the result showed post-game. The Bulldogs and Chiefs both head for St Louis this weekend with Rolla facing Visitation Saturday while the Chiefs compete in the Parkway College Showcase.

From the Lake Sun Leader: Camdenton’s girls soccer team suffered a bruising 1-0 loss to Glendale on Thursday night. Glendale out-shot the Lady Lakers 8-4 in a physical match that featured three significant injuries, two yellow cards, and foul counts in the double digits for both teams. UPDATE – the goal was scored by junior Alix Opfer, an outside midfielder this year with the return of sweeper Ashley McWilliams, assisted by Lindsey Sprouse.

From the Waynesville Daily Guide: The Clark sisters combined for the first goal only four minutes in, as freshman Loriann Clark took sophomore Jesslyn’s pass and tucked the ball into the lower right corner. Eighteen minutes later sophomore Sarah Dowling put the finishing touch on a cross from former Hillcrest Hornet Alicia Otero for the second goal. Otero transferred to Waynesville from Hillcrest this season. Junior varsity keeper Cheyenne Forshey played in the field for varsity in this game got the Tigers on the board when she put freshman Jourdan Kilthau’s pass into the left side netting 10 minutes into the second half. Jesslyn Clark and Dowling finished off the scoring to put the Tigers up for the final margin of 5-0.

Monday Soccer Report – Hornets Open With A Win

Willard Tigers – 1
In an entertaining game that featured a pair of teams that will rely heavily on youth, it was the Hornet’s who struck first this evening. Starting with a 50/50 ball won in the middle by sophomore Shanon Thomas, her midfield partner Raechal Gramm picked up the loose ball and sent senior Courtney Busby down the right side. Busby’s speed and hard work was rewarded when she lofted a cross to the far side that was met by sophomore Cassie Farrell perfectly, heading it past the keeper in the 47th minute.
The Tiger’s, surprised by the athletic and hard tackling Hornets, fought back and put tremendous pressure on the Hornets who calmly responded to the challenge. It was only a 79th minute direct kick (see below) by freshman Miriam Dashtipour that allowed the Tiger’s to continue play. Two scoreless overtime periods led to penalty kicks which were won by the Hornets. Hillcrest scored two out of the first four and while the Tigers had three shots blocked by Hornet’s goalkeeper ? and the final shot went wide, giving the Hornet’s the win on a 2-1 margin.

Shelby Hatz led the Irish attack with two goals and two assists, Ronnie Renner scored two goals and an assist. Bekah Bade, Jordan Banasik, Carsen Baron, Courtney Devlin, Rebecca Mayus, and Emily Ortega each scored for Catholic. Bekah Bade, Courtney Devlin, and Carsen Baron each recorded two assists, and Mandy Bailes had an assist. Rachel Scott and Megan Goetzinger combined for the shutout in goal.

The Tigers got goals from eight different players this evening in earning the shutout win at Branson. The Tigers (1-1) scored four goals in the first half and four in the second to dominate the Pirates and gain some momentum after a 4-0 loss at Jefferson City Helias in their season opener last week. Those scoring in the first half for Waynesville were senior Leslie Holsather, sophomore Sarah Dowling, senior Jorgie Dacamara and freshman Jordan Kilthau. In the second half, freshman Loriann Clark, sophomore Jesslyn Clark, senior Alicia Otero and freshman Janelle Miller were the WHS scorers.

Rolla Bulldogs Focusing On Offense

Rolla, Mo. —
The Rolla High School girls’ soccer team will be looking for more offense this spring. The Lady Bulldogs had a strong defensive effort throughout 2009, allowing just 17 goals all season long.However, RHS simply couldn’t find the back of the net enough on the other end of the field. Rolla finished with a 16-7-3 record last year, reaching the district tournament championship game.
From that squad seven starters and 10 varsity lettermen return. Leading the charge for RHS is senior goal-keeper Adrian Pogue, an all-state selection last season. Pogue recorded 14 shutouts last season and is the Lady Bulldog career shutout leader with 34.
RHS will start three defenders – senior Katherine McCaulla, sophomore Kendra Wood and junior Ashlee Rightnowar.
Starting outside midfielders are senior Katelyn Maddy and sophomore Taylor Tronstad while the center midfielders are sophomore Taylor Banholzer and senior Jaclyn Standfast.
The three forwards are seniors Olivia Cox and Kaylyn Stoll and junior Ellen Spooner.
Rolla is scheduled to begin the season on Friday, March 26, opening the Central Federal/RHS Girls’ Soccer Classic against Washington at 5 p.m. on Kiwanis Field. RHS is also scheduled to play Springfield Catholic at 9 a.m. and Columbia Hickman at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 27 in the event.

In the first round of the Moberly Tournament, the Lakers fall to the hosts. Sophomore Ashley Paschel scored the lone goal for the Lady Lakers while freshman outside midfielder Abbey Herfurth had the assist.

Warrenton – 0
Camdenton finishes second in the round robin tournament after beating Hannibal 4-0 early Saturday in the pouring rain at Moberly and beating Warrenton 6-0 in the afternoon game. Senior Stephanie Kirvan, junior Latea LaRue and sophomores Kali Kuse and Ashely Paschel earned a spot on the All-Tournament team. Camdenton improves to 9-2 after the tournament.

In the 11th minute of the half, Katie Shannon took a ball near midfield and dribbled toward the goal. Shannon shot from near the edge of the 18 yard box as the keeper came out to cut down the angle. The ball found the back of the net, giving West Plains a 1-0 lead. Shelly Renegar tied the game for the Eagles from the spot soon afterwards. The game winner came when Ashley Harris battled with a Liberty defender before finally getting past her. After cutting in toward the goal, the goalkeeper started coming out and Harris sent a nice low cross to a wide open Dani Valade in front of the goal who redirected the ball into the back of the net.
Sedalia Sacred Heart hosts a pair of Springfield teams this weekend, with Central on Friday and Greenwood on Saturday.

Jaclyn Standfast scored six minutes into the game when she stole the ball from a Hawk defender at midfield and was able to break in on the goal 1v1 with the keeper.
Olivia Cox scored on a scramble in the box five minutes into the second half for the final score.
RHS improves to 5-1-2 on the season and record their sixth shutout in eight games.
Class 3 District 10 High School Girls Soccer Preview
The regional papers are finally taking a look at Girls Soccer, almost on the eve of the season. Let’s see what they have to say:
Rolla Lady Bulldog soccer team on a mission to win
Mike Howard is accustomed to winning. And failing to get to the district finals for only the second time in the program’s history didn’t sit well with the only head coach the Rolla High School girls’ soccer team has ever known.
But that’s history. Howard has a deep and talented squad to make a push for the state playoffs this year. Rolla returns 11 varsity lettermen, including nine starters. And most of those players have been either two- or three-year starters for the squad.
In goal Rolla returns junior Adrian Pogue. At centerback is senior Rachel Zamazanuk and freshman newcomer Taylor Banholzer while the right outside back is senior Amanda Rogers and the left outside back is junior Katelyn Maddy.
The center-midfielders are senior Emily Spooner and junior Jaclyn Standfast while the outside midfielders are senior Kim Carter on the right side and sophomore Ellen Spooner on the left side. The starting forwards are senior Ashley Kerr and junior Olivia Cox.
All I can say is, wow! The Lady ‘Dog varsity team is slated to open play by hosting the Central Federal Savings & Loan/Rolla Invitational March 27-28.
Waynesville Lady Tigers soccer kickin’ it with new head coach
The Waynesville Lady Tiger soccer team will see a lot of changes this season. After losing 10 seniors to graduation, 8 of whom were starters and included second-team all-state forward Katie Pritchard, the Lady Tigers also have a new head coach. Mike Gow comes to Waynesville from Lebanon, where he was the head coach of the team that eliminated the Lady Tigers in the district semifinals last year.
“I have big hopes for Erica [Combs] and Orielle [Thomas, senior midfielders],” he said. “They’ll both have to be leaders.”
Combs, a team captain, agreed that this season might be a “rebuilding year” but there’s no lack of talent. “I think talent-wise, we’re just as solid as we were last year,” she said. “We lost 8 starters but we have 6 players with varsity experience.”Plus, there’s a lot of parity in the Ozark Conference. No team, she said, looks overpowering, although Gow said he thinks that Rolla will be the team to beat.
The Lady Tigers will kick off their season next Tuesday March 24th against Jefferson City Helias.
Camdenton Lady Lakers get set for soccer season
The Camdenton girls soccer team lost 15 seniors to graduation this offseason, but they might have the pieces to reload and continue their success, following last season’s 16-8 record.
“We have a pretty solid nucleus,” head coach J.D. Hunter said. “We’ll see where it takes us.”A couple of returning midfielders, LaTea LaRue and Haley Baker will lead the charge in that department. Both are strong, physical athletes. Hunter said the pair should be a “force to be reckoned with.”
Up front, the Lakers return their No. 2-goal scorer from a year ago in senior Stephanie Kirvan.
The Lakers open their season on Monday March 23rd, hosting the Richland Bears.
