Final
Greenwood Blue Jays- 2
Central Bulldogs – 1
A rematch between two teams that faced off Tuesday, the Blue Jays avenged their 1-4 loss to capture the title of their tournament Saturday afternoon. The match was lively with action that went end-to-end as the teams reveled in the warmth of the day and the competition. The Jays are fielding a young group, with five freshman in the starting line up, and they came through on the day. Kelsey Nau in particular, who partnered with Hallie Sutton in the midfield. Nau scored both goals for Greenwood and was opportunistic in her efforts. The first came after sophomore Mary-Margaret Kirkman wove her way through three defenders, got pushed wide but got her shot off from the right side. Nau swooped in from the left and buried the rebound about 22 minutes into the match.
Central came out in the second half and worked hard to equalize and had the better of the play but once again Greenwood surprised them with Nau getting her second goal about 18 min into the second half, against the run of play. Central came down on the restart and their freshman, Analyn Salvato, brought them back within one when her high shot from outside the box slipped through the GK’s fingers. The Blue Jay’s held on however to go on and capture the hardware.

The game was tight until the final 10 minutes when the Eagles scored two goals for the final margin. The game was 3-1 at halftime for Mt View, who opened the scoring about 10 min into the match. The Tigers came out strong in the second half to tie the game at 3 until the 51st when Mt View retook the lead at 4-3. Shelly Renegar had three I believe.
