ESPN Network Broadcasting 23 Games in Two Weeks

ESPN networks – ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, ESPN3, ESPNU and WatchESPN – will combine to televise live 28 soccer matches Thursday, May 23, through Friday, June 7. The schedule is highlighted by the U.S. Men’s National Team preparatory matches ahead of the team’s three 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying contests in June, the first leg of a home-and-away Liga MX Final between Cruz Azul and Club America, and the 14 European qualifying matches for the 2014 FIFA World Cup on June 7.

It kicks off with the broadcast of the Chelsea vs Manchester City friendly at Busch Stadium, where over 10,000 showed up Wednesday for a Chelsea open practice session!

As always, you can find the full list on my Soccer Calendar in the bottom right of the website (or the link at top).

Chelsea vs ManCity May 23rd in Busch Stadium

Busch Stadium Soccer seating chartHere is ticket information for the upcoming

match at Busch Stadium on May 23rd.

Reserved seats starting at $30 ** Premium Reserved seats starting at $100 ** All-inclusive seats starting at $140

* All Field Club, Midfield, Sideline and All-inclusive ticket buyers for the match on Thursday will receive a FREE ticket to the Chelsea FC training session on Wed, May 22 at 5:30 pm.

From an article in the Post-Dispatch earlier today

Seats will be added on the field while some in the upper deck in right field won’t be sold, bringing capacity for the game to about 42,000. Bryant said they’re hoping for a sellout, with fans coming from outside the area to see the game.

Fitting a soccer field into Busch Stadium will be a tight squeeze. The field will run from in front of the visiting dugout on the third-base line, along the first-base line, to the right field stands. It will be just short of 100 meters long, the minimum allowable length for an international match, which would probably preclude playing World Cup qualifying matches here. But because this match is an exhibition game, being a few feet short is permissible.

ManU vs Chelsea For EPL Title Sunday

manu munich 1999I get annoyed with all of the Fan Boys that Manchester United and Chelsea have attracted the past few years, so I’m rooting for a Spanish side to win the Champions League this season. Despite that, I am reminded by how the youngsters were attracted to one of these sides when a 20-something starts reminiscing about the ‘old days’ of the late 90’s. Matthew Mueller is a CBC grad and is establishing his career in soccer working as a Youth Coach and assisting with the US Development Academy programs at Scott Gallagher. Check out his story on ManU – Going Back to 1999

The thing that strikes me most about this Manchester United team is the fact that they have the right balance. You look at every position in the United team and they have the right mix of players to get the job done. I look back to 1999 which was the year that they won the Treble and that team reminds me a lot of this United team. The team this year might even be better?! But we will not know that until they can show that they can get the final results.
