Glendale Falcons Hold First Ever Alumni Game

A large group gathered Sunday evening on the freshly mowed and lined Glendale pitch for the 1st Annual Alumni game, organized by 2004 graduate Maddy Senkowski. With representation from the class of 1992 to 2010, the game pulled a group that put a smile on Coach Jeff Rogers face as he prepares to begin his 21st year at Glendale.

I’ll try and name as many as I can. Feel free to leave a comment or send me a note using the Contact form with more details.

Glendale Falcons Outscore Kickapoo ChiefsGlendale Falcons – 4
Kickapoo Chiefs – 1
The Falcon’s set a high bar in the traditional derby this evening, winning easily by comparison to the history of this series. The game-winner was scored in the 6th minute (I subscribe to the goal that establishes a lead that is not relinquished when measuring game-winners) when Brandon Baum buried his 28 yard direct kick into the upper 90 over the outstretched hands of Kickapoo keeper Tyler Moses. Only 4 minutes later freshman Austin Hart scored as he ran onto a loose ball in the 6 yard box, following Patrick Baltz’s run into the box and shot that was parried by a diving keeper.

Kickapoo had opportunities in this game as twice in the next 10 minutes Baum and then Cameron Dugan were called upon to clear balls from behind Glendale keeper Jordan Pitt. A lack of bodies in the right place meant that the only goal the Chiefs would score this evening would come in stoppage time of the 1st half. Substitute Sean Marren first won a 50/50 ball in midfield before slotting a diagonal pass that sent Skyler Russell into the box between a pair of defenders. His shot from 15 yards brought the Chiefs back within 1 entering the 2nd half. Rumor has it that this is the first goal Russell has ever scored against either the Falcon’s or the Pershing Generals.

The Falcon’s extended their lead in the first 10 minutes of the second half. First Baltz once again got into the 6 yard box, this time burying a shot from Alec Martinez’s short pass. Later Dugan buried a shot that came after a scramble in the box, sealing the victory.

Physical? Check. Insurance Form? Check? High School Practice – Only A Week Away?!!

If you haven’t been keeping an eye on the countdown timer, than Monday August 10th will sneak up fast. A week from Monday High School sports will begin in the state. If your son, or daughter, are playing Fall sports there are a few items that need to be in place. You’ve got next week to complete them so your child can be on the pitch from the beginning.

1. A completed physical form.
2. A completed proof of insurance form.
3. Completed citizenship form.

By the way, the video is from Thursday nights 8v8 Kick Around at Kickapoo High School. The Chiefs, Falcons and Ozark Tigers were playing a series of 30 minute games with each school fielding a pair of teams. Two of the Chief’s 3 seniors this year are shown, with Skyler Russell bringing the ball down the left side with a square ball to Ian Kennedy who’s one-timer is blocked by senior Jordan Pitt, with the goal line save coming from senior Brandon Baum. Feels like mid-season already!hotel room sex
