417FC U14’s Win at Columbia Pride Invitational

The 417FC U14 boys won the COLUMBIA PRIDE INVITATIONAL during the weekend of October 4-6, 2013. They played five games in two days and beat out six other teams for the win. They recorded a shut-out in quarters, semis and the final in Sunday’s games. With one tie and the rest wins the 417FC U14 boys couldn’t have made our club more proud.

This team also captured the League Championship over this past weekend for the fall U14 Boys session at Lake County Soccer in Springfield. With a record of 8-0 and 24 goals for and only 8 goals against, the team averaged scoring 3 goals in every game while only allowing 1 against. The boys look forward to this weekend’s Incredible Pizza Tournament at LCS and preparing themselves for State Cup in June. Well Done Boys!!!

The team is led by Coach Toby Powley, Coach Jason LoRusso and Coach Aaron Harrison.

Nixa Soccer Club is now 417FC.com

417 FC crestYou’ve seen the tweets or may have heard something about this, here’s the formal press release.

August 20, 2013- Nixa Soccer Club has officially changed its name to 417FC to start the fall 2013 season. All U9+ teams are now playing under the 417FC name to represent the players and families in the club from the 417 area code including Branson, Clever, Highlandville, Nixa, Republic, Ozark, Springfield, and Willard.

Nixa Soccer Club was first established in 2002 by Tim Sterling with two teams to help develop soccer in the Nixa community. In 2008, the growing club became a Non-Profit Organization that was dedicated to promoting the sport and its fitness benefits to local youth by teaching players and coaches the techniques, principals and applications associated with soccer.

Today, 417FC has over 150 players on U9-U17 teams and numerous coaches with playing experience at nearly every level of college soccer. 417FC prides itself in maximizing player development at the lowest possible cost for youth soccer players in Southwest Missouri by remaining a Non-Profit Organization.

Additionally, 417FC is a member of the Sporting Club Network, a Sporting Kansas City youth affiliate program.

Tim Sterling, President of the growing club, sees a very bright future. “We have a strong core of volunteers and an energetic coaching staff who embrace the philosophy of competitive, not crazy. We love the game and see the benefits of fitness, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle that go along with participation in our program. The foundation that we have put in place will be a springboard for the next generation of players and coaches.”

417FC kicked off the fall season on August 17th when the U13 Boys team landed themselves in the record books when they won the first 417FC game with a 4-0 shutout in the Heartland Soccer league based outside of Kansas City.
