The Oregonian talks to Jack Jewsbury ahead of the Portland Timbers Home Opener on Saturday.

Jack Jewsbury has experienced a lot of opening days.

He spent eight years of opening days with the Kansas City Wizards. And as a veteran he worn the captain’s armband as he walked up from under the stands to the loud singing of the Timber’s Army at the Portland Timbers first home game as an MLS Franchise.

But with each passing year, those opening days become more and more meaningful for the 11-year MLS veteran.

Read more here.

Game time Saturday is 9:30PM CST (turn your clocks forward afterwards) and can be seen on MLS Live. Get the annual subscription for $65, its a great value for the season especially if you have to fight for TV time at home. I watch most games on my Nexus 7 tablet (you can also use your iPhone, iPad or Android device).
