Matt Caution is a St Louis native (Ft Zumwalt South) who is the Missouri State Bear’s career scoring leader, holding records for points (125), goals (46), assists (33) and game-winners (12) established during his four year career between 1993-1997. That’s him on the left (above), with Coach Leamy and Doug Lascody (MSU 2004) at the MSU Team Camp in July 2005, the summer before Caution joined the Cougars from the St Louis Steamers. Here’s the story. He finished his career with the Cougars following the 2008 season according to Wikipedia

He’s back in St Louis now. I bumped into Doug Lascody a couple of weeks ago at the Brentwood Vetta where he was about to play with a group of former teammates. They’ve done pretty well, including winning the Nike College Indoor Soccer Classic a couple of years ago.

Note that the Banquet is just one of three events planned for this weekend to recognize the Hall-of-Fame Class. On Friday, February 1 at the Lady Bears basketball game against Indiana State, Halftime recognition of this year’s class as well as Mary Jo Wynn Achievement Center project. They’ll do at the men’s game against Evansville on Saturday February 3 and again on Sunday, February 3 during the Lady Bears basketball game vs Illinois State. In adddition to the Halftime recognition there will be a special jersey retirement ceremony of Coach Cheryl Burnett, 40th Anniversary of Title IX, and Lady Bears annual Alumni Day
