Via Lake Media’s Top Three Outstanding Athletes With the fall season officially over, the staff of the Lake Sun decided to take a look at the season and select the best of seven different categories. With so many talented athletes, teams and coaches, some of the decisions were tough to make. Here are our picks for this season’s best of the best. Despite our efforts to argue the case, these three seniors were the unanimous picks for best athletes, being great both on and off the field.

Picked number 1, over a pair of throw football players (huzzah!) was…

1. Robbie Mueller, Senior, Osage Soccer: Thanks to some fancy footwork, senior Robbie Mueller has established a new Missouri High School career scoring record in a 3-1 win for the Class 1 Osage Indians over Class 3 Lebanon. Robbie was also named 1st team All-State, Southwest Region Offensive Player of the Year,

In addition, Robbie’s team was chosen 2nd on the Best Teams List by Lake Media

2. Osage Indians Boys’ Soccer Team: The Indians’ soccer team, led by prolific scorer Robbie Mueller, finished the season with a 16-5 record. With a high-power offense, the Indians made a strong case for being one of the top teams in their conference, but after dominating Richland 7-0 in the first round of districts, the Indians fell to Crocker in a disappointing 3-0 loss, ending their season. While the Indians had one of the best scorers in the state, the Indians’ ability to play as a team and pass the ball well led them to greatness.

Joining Robbie on the Southwest Regional squad was Jon Colgan, senior defender
