Harding men’s soccer had three players named Daktronics All-Central Region on Tuesday. Senior Rhon Royer was a 1st Team defender, and senior midfielder Jackson Savage and sophomore defender Gehrig Haberstock were named to the 2nd Team.
Haberstock, who hails from Waynesville, Mo., started 13 games this season. As a freshman, he started 18 games while playing 1,500 minutes (4th on the team). He assisted on Harding’s lone goal vs. Northeastern State (9/3/2011).
A 2011 graduate of Wanesville, he was a two-time team captain, two-time All-Region, three-time All-District and All-Conference and 2009 District Co-Defensive Player of the Year. He played for Springfield SC as a sweeper.
Royer started all 17 games for the Bisons in 2012, and played all but three minutes of the season. He scored one goal on a penalty kick against Fort Hays State. He played 60 games in his Bison career with four goals and one assist.
Savage, a native of Coppell, Texas, started all 17 games and had three goals and three assists.
