Carthage and Catholic In Missouri Title Games

ismael-serratos-springfield-sc-soccerThe field is set. The Coaches called the semifinal results well. Some interesting story lines.

Springfield Catholic seems to have separated themselves from the pack. I expect them to capture their second straight title against SoBoCo.

Can the upstarts from Carthage knock off St Dominic’s? I think its possible, the Tiger’s played Springfield Catholic twice during the regular season and lost by a single goal both times, a 3-2 loss and an 0-1 loss. The have a senior in Ismael Serratos (right, a 2 time State Champ with Springfield SC) who can deliver the goals like Mark Steineger does for St Dominic.

Chaminade vs CBC. After the howls from the St Louis crowd die down about why this game is being played in KC when it deserves to be here, the larger question is what will the result be this time. Will the ‘boys of destiny’ at Chaminade achieve their established goal, having forgone the Academy for this opportunity? Or will Michler and boys continue their remarkable run and add an eighth star? It’s hard to argue against either scenario after seeing Friday’s results.

All games will be streamed on www.foxsportsmidwest.com. Following the championships, the video will be archived on www.MSHSAA.tv.
