Southwest Missouri is represented by a pair of squads this year with Springfield Catholic pursuing a 2nd straight Class 1 title as they return to the Final 4 for the fifth straight year. In
five six years of existence (thanks Dante). The Carthage Tigers celebrate their return as the Class 2 representative for the first time since 2004.
All games will be streamed on www.foxsportsmidwest.com. Following the championships, the video will be archived on www.MSHSAA.tv. The Girls Final 4 streams were pretty good, I’d recommend them if you want to catch the games but can’t make it to Blue Springs.
To enhance your enjoyment, here are some previews for the games. Of special note, Ole recruited several high school coaches to offer their ‘scouting reports’. Links below.
It looks like Jacob Moore (SoBoCo/Springfield SC) may not be available for the semifinal game. Lots of other good information in the article on all of the games. And here’s the Post-Dispatch Class 1 Capsule.
For those enjoying the Fox Sports Midwest broadcast, here’s the ESPN Special on Carthage that was referenced.
Class 1 Semi: Southern Boone vs Bishop LeBlond – SoBoCo takes the lead in the 72nd minute and extends their lead with a PK in the 76th (described as a direct goal kick by Fox Sports Midwest). Win 2-0.

Class 3 Semi: Chaminade vs Rock Bridge – the Bruins score first, early in the second half, and there’s some controversy to the call. It wakes up the Red Devils who knot the score and then win on Jason Pesek’s OT goal in the 89th minute.
For a complete preview of the Class 3 games, check out the reports at SoccerSTL where Ole has recruited Coach Eddie Horn (Jeff City) and Joe Toigo (Park Hill South) to provide scouting reports as well as links to other statewide reports.
