Sporting KC grabs 2nd place

While construction wrapped up on their state-of-the-art stadium, Sporting KC was forced to play their first 10 MLS games on the road. Sporting went 1-6-3 during the beginning of the year roadtrip and we were all wondering if the team could recover. Well Sporting KC has officially bounced back.

KC won for the fourth time in six games Sunday night, topping DC United 1-0 in the sixth game of a nine-game homestand to improve to 9-7-9 overall and move to second place in the Eastern Conference.

Forward Kei Kamara scored his seventh goal of the season in the 19th minute and it was all Sporting would need.

KC is 8-1-6 since openig their new stadium and their defense has been a big reason why, recording five shutouts during the stretch.

Josh Wolff, who played eight seasons in KC, made his first trip to Kansas City’s Sporting Livestrong Park as captain of DC United.

Sporting continutes its homestand against Dallas at 7:30 Saturday.bangladeshi escort in dubai

KC beats Portland in Jewsbury’s return

Sporting KC had a week and a half to think about their first home MLS loss of the season against Seattle, they took their frustration out on the Portland Timbers Wednesday night at Sporting Livestrong Park.

Graham Zusi scored twice in the first half. The first was a bullet from 25 yards out. Fifteen minutes later he knocked in his fifth goal of the year.

MLS All-Star and former Sporting KC and Kickapoo high school midfielder Jack Jewsbury made his first appearance in KC with another uniform on.

Soony Saad put KC up 3-0 in the 70th minute with his first goal of the year. The Timbers got on the board when Bright Dike put a cross into the back of the net, but it was too little to late.

Arens And Collier Face Missouri State Thursday

Taylor Arens (2015) and Caleb Collier (2013), Missouri S&T Miners
On the way to St Louis today (I’m officially a former resident of Springfield) I stopped by my alma mater in Rolla to catch the early evening practice for the Miner’s. The squad, led by GLVC Coach of the Year Joe Ahearn, visits Springfield on Thursday evening for an exhibition match against the Missouri State Bears. Game time is 6:30 pm at Plaster Stadium.

The team includes a pair of Springfield players, freshman Taylor Arens (Catholic/Springfield SC) and junior Caleb Collier (Kickapoo/Springfield SC), pictured after practice today.

The Miner’s are coming off a season that included a share of the Great Lakes Valley Conference’s regular season championship, followed by a run to the title game of the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional, losing to eventual national champion Northern Kentucky.

The Miners were picked to finish third in the 16-team conference race in the league’s coaches poll released Wednesday, just after landing a No. 13 national ranking in the pre-season for Division II by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America – the same spot S&T finished in the final national poll a year ago.iranian escort

In the 20th minute, Kei Kamara put KC up 1-0 with his sixth goal of the season.

KC was in control of the game until the very end. In the 90th minute, Teal Bunbury nearly put the game out of reach but his shot went just wide of the far post.

On Seattle’s next possession, Mauro Rosales netted the equalizer and two minutes later Lamar Neagle stunned the crowd with the game-winner.

It was KC’s first MLS loss at Sporting Livestrong Park. They will try to rebound Wednesday against Portland at Sporting Livestrong anal escort dubai

Sporting KC climbs over .500 with win

Sporting KC (7-6-9) climbed over .500 for the first time since March with a 2-0 win over Real Salt Lake (9-5-6) at Sporting Livestrong Park Wednesday night.

Roger Espinoza scored his first goal of the year and Teal Bunbury scored his second goal this week. The Sporting defense also came up big, recording the team’s first shutout since June 22 against Philadelphia despite playing a man down for much of the second half after Espinoza was ejected.

With the win, KC extended its franchise-best unbeaten streak to 14 matches and remained undefeated at home in MLS play. They are now tied for third place in Eastern Conference.

They continue their nine-match homestand against Seattle at 7:30 on Saturday.stunning escorts
