St. Vincent Indians – 6
Orchard Farm Eagles – 2
The newcomers, recent winners of their first ever District title, fell to the experienced and hungry Indians who get their wish, a rematch with the Fightin’ Irish
SE Missourian: St Vincent Advances to Title Match
Springfield Catholic Fightin’ Irish – 5
Pembroke Hill Raiders – 0
Catholic came out hungry and hard to open the game and Pembroke held them off for 30 minutes, as much due to the Irish’s lack of patience in the box as three opportunities in the box in the opening 8 minutes all went high or to the keeper. Natalie Smid had the best opportunities, putting her first off the far upright after winning a ball just outside the box and later, off the crossbar after Courtney Devlin’s simple pass back to Smid. Shelby Hatz finally solved the riddle of the Raider’s fine keeper when she redirected Lydia Holtmann’s corner kick into the upper 90 at the near post (video below and on KSPR later tonight).
Goals by Nicole Ortega, Natalie Smid, Bekah Bade and Courtney Devlin in the 2nd half completed the scoring as Coach Timson emptied his bench and prepared for the title game tomorrow.
