Missouri State Bears Open Play Wednesday

Missouri State Bears, Heath Melugin (2012)

The Bears began preseason practice with fitness training at midnight on Friday night, continuing a tradition that has been in place for a number of years now. Practice has proceeded apace with two-a-days leading up to their exhibition season opener that will be played at Plaster Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Game time is 6:15 pm Wednesday and the opponent is CBC, or Central Baptist College, from Conway AR. The Mustangs are an NAIA program with the majority of their players hailing from the Natural State.

I’m not certain why the Bears would play an NAIA team, even at this point in the preseason, but I expect we’ll get a look at some of the new prospects as well as figuring out who did, or didn’t, come in to camp in shape and prepared to play.
