Ole - all good points. While everyone is interested in 2010 year, the Catholic team will only lose two really strong seniors this year; Renner and Fitzgerald. Catholic will be the team to beat next year as they inherit some very strong freshman-to-be players to add to their already strong junior class. Ozark and Glendale lose a lot of seniors and the bulk of their starters. The tide could be changing as the 2010 senior class was stacked with quality soccer players in the region (including Boyer and LeFors from Lebanon). Of course, I will have a Bulldog next year but enjoying my last weeks to say GO VIKINGS!

Good point Sheila, I did neglect the Irish. Again, no stats available on the website but if I had to guess I think we'll discover Shelby Hatz leads the team, Natalie Smid will offer a strong second choice and then a large number of contributors like the Tigers as Catholic competes locally. A less defined list of go-to players but a very strong team with the best chance of reaching the Final 4 from this region.

I checked the Ozark website in preparing this story Mike, I was disappointed not to find the stats you reference, especially given the quality of the work you provide the team.

On the other hand, the Tiger's season more closely resembles the Bulldogs this year with the unexpected results at the Kickapoo Shootout and late season losses to Glendale and Kickapoo where goals were in short supply. The girls may be peaking at the right time with the wins over Nixa and Parkview however. Good luck in the playoffs.

Mike - Couldn't agree more...Ozark has good depth and attacking skills as much as any team in the district, not to mention a great goalie!

Perhaps the reference was related to Ozark Conference versus all teams as we know Catholic has great depth and attacking skills as well.

There may be other teams besides Glendale and Parkview with some attacking depth. Here's a recap of the top goal scorers for the Ozark Lady Tigers as an example:

Megan Gunnels, senior 9
Morgan Davidson, freshman 8
Alicia Collard, senior 7
Jayme Braun, junior 6
Shannon Lacker, junior 6
Megan Stodden, senior 5
Taylor Jordan, senior 4
Mollie Killion, junior 4

Some might argue that is a pretty deep pool of goal scoring threats.
