JC United FC, a semi-pro soccer team made up of players from Carthage and Joplin, will debut in the National Star Soccer League (NSSL) 2010 season.
JC United FC, scheduled to play its home games at Fred G. Hughes Stadium on the campus of Missouri Southern State University, is part of the Central Region’s Men Premier Division. JC United FC will compete in the Central Region’s North Central Conference, battling it out to make it to the top of the standings.
JC United FC will travel to cities Within Missouri, as well as cities in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Arkansas.
“Our goal entering the league is to make it and grow little by little to make it to and win the championship game,” said Antonio Camacho, founder of JC United FC.
JC United FC, originally formed from a previous team called El Salvador Deportivo, is currently inviting players interested to take part in an open tryout. Players 18 years old and younger must have a parental consent.
“Our future goal while playing in (the Central Region’s Division) is to get the youth involved and one day have them join the league too,” said Camacho.
