The season opening match for the Glendale Falcons will be against the Kickapoo Chiefs on Wednesday March 31st. The game will be a cancer awareness event to support Kickapoo basketball coach Stephanie Phillips. As you are probably aware, Coach Phillips is fighting cancer. The soccer community’s support for Coach Phillips was mentioned last week in the News-Leader.
The Chiefs will be wearing pink kits with brown printing for the event. The Falcons will be wearing pink shorts socks. Select “The Cure” balls will be used for the match and following the game, two of the Select “Cure” balls used in the match will be signed by both teams and auctioned off, with the proceeds to Coach Phillips as well.
Kickapoo is selling white (not yellow or brown) “Kicking Our Way to a Cure” t-shirts for $10 as a fundraiser. The shirts can be ordered or purchased the day of the match. Donations are also gladly accepted.
