The U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team fulfilled its goal of qualifying for the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup by virtue of a 2-1 semifinal victory against Costa Rica on Thursday, Jan. 28, at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Second half goals from Kristie Mewis and Teresa Noyola put the team ahead before Costa Rica’s Raquel Rodriguez Cedeño pulled one back for the Ticas.
The U.S. U-20 Women will take on Mexico in the tournament final at 4:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Jan. 30. The match will be televised live on Fox Sports en Español, streamed live on CONCACAF.com and fans can also follow along live on ussocccer.com’s MatchTracker.
