From the Post-Dispatch: St. Dominic (22-5) took the 1-0 lead with 28 minutes, 14 seconds left before halftime. That’s where Dominic’s Zac Walsh sent a cross in front of the Helias goal where Troy Gittemeier pounced on the ball and knocked it past Helias goalkeeper Matt Skain for the lead.

“Zac played a nice ball to me and I saw the shot was open so I took it,” Gittemeier said. “I just tried to place it in the far corner.”

St. Dominic added to the lead with 19:04 left before halftime when Michael Yuede converted a penalty kick into the upper right corner past Skain after St. Dominic’s Brett Stiffler was knocked down in the Helias penalty area by a defender.
