FC Springfield provided the opening game, and Total Prodigy proved to be worthy opponents. Prodigies defense held strong, keeping FC Springfield to only three shots on goal. Megan and Madi shared the eventual clean sheet, with Lauren scoring a hat trick. Marin hit for two, while Rachel and Danielle both scored a goal of piece.
In last years tournament, Kansas Rush eventually knocked Total Prodigy out of competition due to a 1-0 score line. With that result on their minds, Prodigy hit first. Rush continued to press, eventually getting one back. With the game one minute from full time, Prodigy sprung to life. With 40 second left on the board, Lauren found space down the wing to pick out Marin at the back post to slip in the winner.
Due to inclement weather, game three against local Summit Soccer Club Explosion was called a draw. The final was scheduled later in the day, but due to lightning the tournament was called. Total Prodigy was declared the winner due to goal differential, with nine goals scored and one again. Summit SC Explosion were the runners up with three goals for and one against.
Up next for TDSC Prodigy is the GSI Showcase November 21 and 22.
