#25 Ranked Missouri State Bears Host #26 Drake Sunday

Launch A LegacyThe Missouri State Bears reached #25 in this weeks National NSCAA Poll, one of three teams to break into the Top 25 for the first time. The Bear’s host their closest rival, the #26 ranked Drake Bulldogs this Sunday.

In anticipation of this game, the Bear’s have teamed with the Ozarks Food Harvest to “Launch A Legacy” designed to promote the game and help Ozark Food Harvest build their food stocks in advance of the holidays.

FoodFree Adult admission with two canned (non-perishable) food items will get you into the game. All MSU students, faculty and staff will be admitted free of charge. Children 8th grade and younger will also be admitted free. All other will be admitted for $2 (half price).

For groups interested in attending, the Skyboxes are available as well. Cost for the suites is $325 each. They feature:
-Skybox for 10 people
-8 theatre seats + 2 chairs
-20 gen admission tickets (not for suite)
-3 large Domino’s pizzas (sausage, pepperoni, cheese)
-Pepsi products and Snacks
-MSU soccer media guides
-1 autographed ball
-visits from MSU athletics staff

The Bears have won five straight matches, including a road win at then-No. 19 Drake on October 17 and sit atop the Missouri Valley Conference standings.

Missouri State was last ranked in 2005 when it was in the top-25 for eight straight weeks, vaulting as high as No. 9. The Bears’ highest national ranking came in the final NSCAA poll in 1999 when Missouri State was ranked fourth after a 17-0-3 regular season.

This season, the Bears are led by goalkeeper Alex Riggs, who has accumulated seven shutouts and has a 0.65 goals against average. Riggs has been named MVC Defensive Player of the Week twice this season (Sept. 21 and Oct. 12).

Johannes Demarzi and Paul Paradise lead the Bears on offense. Demarzi has tallied nine assists, tied for most in the conference, and has been named MVC Offensive Player of the Week twice (Sept. 21 and Oct. 19). Paradise leads the team with five goals and was named MVC Offensive Player of the Week and to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week this week after scoring two goals against Bradley on Saturday.
