University of Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers – 3
Drury’s nationally seventh-ranked Panthers erupted for three first-half goals and went on to beat Wisconsin-Parkside 3-0 to claim the Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season title and the host role throughout the league’s post-season men’s soccer tournament.
Drury received first-half goals from junior Micah Whorton (Ben Taylor and Taylor Stacy assists), senior Andrew Bordelon (unassisted) and junior Adam Peterson off of dual assists from Bordelon and Whorton, the latter two in a span of three and a half minutes, to take the commanding 3-0 halftime lead over the Rangers (13-4-2, 8-4-2).
The Panthers of first-year coach Ryan Swan held Parkside scoreless in the second half with junior goalkeeper Stephen Conner recording his 10 shutout and eight saves.
The Panthers close out the regular season on Friday with a 7 p.m. match against Northeastern State at Harrison Stadium. Drury will recognize seniors Steve Wilczewski, Andrew Bordelon, Ben Nabers and Jake Allison in pre-game ceremonies on Senior Night.
The top-seeded Panthers (16-1 overall, 13-1 in the GLVC) will play Missouri-St. Louis next Sunday, November 1 in the first-round of the GLVC Tournament with the match at a time to be announced.
Should Drury win in the opening round, the Panthers would then host the semifinals (Friday, November 6) and finals (Sunday, November
in the tourney.

Following their win at Drury October 16th, the Norse have gone 2-2 including today’s loss to UMSL at home. The loss, combined with Drury’s win, gives the Panther’s the GLVC regular season title and the momentum going into the playoffs which begin next Sunday November 1st.
