Fall Classic: Springfield SC Captures Two Girls Titles

In the U13 Girls Division, Springfield SC went 2-2, with wins over RP Elite and KC Select, finishing 3rd in the group.
In the U14 Girls Division, Pulaski United FC went 0-2-1, getting a tie against KC National in their first tournament outing as a team. SSC had two teams competing in this bracket with the 2nd group finishing 0-1-2 on the weekend, with ties against MO Elite FC and KC Select. MO Elite FC finished 0-2-1
In the U16 Girls division, Springfield SC went 1-1-2 with the win coming against the new Pulaski County United team that was competing for the first time. The PUFC girls finished 0-3-1 with their tie coming against Xtreme16.

Elite opened the game with a 1st minute goal by Kelsey Bartell, who ran onto a through ball from Emelie Schrier and shot, grabbed the rebound and slipped the ball past the defense, to give the ladies in blue an early lead they held to halftime. SSC got a very early goal in the 2nd half by Shelby Stewart to tie the game. Stewart went on to get two more goals and help lead SSC to the High School Girls title. Shelby Hatz also scored for SSC.
Mamba’s went 1-2 on the weekend, beating Carrera 4-1 while losing to Lady Ajax 1-2 and to SSC by a score of 0-4 with Shelby Stewart and Shelby Hatz once again scoring.
MO Elite FC went 2-0-1 to reach the finals, defeating Bayern Munich and FC St Louis Atletico while tying Sedalia Select.
The Total Demize high school girls won the Silver Division, winning all 4 games without giving up a goal. Two new teams in the area, FC Springfield and the Lake Country Academy girls, competed in the Silver Division. FC Springfield went 1-2-1, winning 5-1 in the match against LCS who went 0-3-1 this weekend, with the tie coming against the Northwest Arkansas Lightning.Under 14 Boys was a very competitive group with 5 regional teams spread among 3 brackets. Cobras (Joplin) finished 1-2 with the victory coming against NW Arkansas Lightning. Springfield SC 2nd team finished 1-2, beating KC Select but falling to eventual champions Sysmex (Columbia) 0-6. The 3rd bracket had 3 regional teams, with SSC winning their bracket with a 2-0-1 record while the Rolla Knights finished 2nd with an identical 2-0-1 record but fewer points due to goal differential. The went into the semifinals as the Wild Card, losing to KC Select while SSC lost to Sysmex on a late PK. MO Ozarks FC (Joplin) also competed in the tough 3rd bracket, finishing 0-3 including a tight 1-2 loss to the Knights.
In the Under 13 Boys, Springfield SC finished 1st in their bracket with two wins but then fell in the semifinals to the ultimate champions, Futura. FC Springfield finished 0-2 in their bracket, won by the KC Fusion.

Correction….Shelby Stewart did score three goals for the hat trick in this game but Shelby Hatz also scored….it was the Shelby Show! Final Score 4-1.
