I took some time to chat with Francesco after the Creighton game Wednesday evening. He’s a freshman from Shattuck-St Mary, a high school in Minnesota that has been featured on national TV for their sports programs. Like my conversation with David Buckenheimer, I’m very impressed by the professional attitude these young men are taking about the game and the results. Combined with being well-spoken, I think it bodes well for the program when you combine the skills they bring to the game with the respectful and thoughtful approach that is evident. Francesco is one of seven players who have started all ten games this season. He’s so reliable you almost don’t notice him, a highly regarded quality in defenders, but his pace and confidence on the ball have played a large role in the shutouts the team has accumulated and also in allowing senior Johannes Demarzi to go forward. Here’s the interview, enjoy.
The 2009 Fall All-Stars have been announced. Putting on the game requires a significant amount of time as well as costs including t-shirts, facility rental and printing of a program.
