Club America and arch rivals Club Deportivo Guadalajara (Chivas) will play at Arrowhead Stadium next Wednesday, Mexican Independence Day, September 16 at 8:30 p.m. CT.

There is no match in the Mexican First Division season that brings out the emotion and passion of the “Clásico Nacional.” Since the first meeting in 1943, América and Chivas have established themselves as the class of Mexican soccer with the Guadalajara club winning a record total of 11 league titles while América has raised ten titles in the professional era and four in the amateur era. In the most recent meeting between the two clubs, Chivas prevailed over América in an exciting 1-0 match on April 19, 2009 during the Torneo Clausura 2009 at its Estadio Jalisco in Guadalajara.
