Missouri Elite FC – Southwest Missouri’s Girls Soccer Program

Elite LOGO FinalMissouri Elite FC is a “Girls-Only” soccer club that has been providing training for six years in Southwest Missouri. You have known us as JB Marine Springfield but it’s time to spread our wings, much like the graduates of our training programs have. With alumni college players like Jessie Yach (Nixa career scoring leader), Regina Bodine (Willard) and Maggie Schrier (Glendale captain and Homecoming Queen), it’s easy to recognize our emphasis on training, sportsmanship and education.

In addition to the new name, the girls will be trading in their old green uniforms for new Argentina blue Adidas uniforms. However, the club name and colors are the only things that are changing. The club’s coaching philosophies and goals will remain the same. The club is committed to developing female athletes and will utilize female coaches who grew up playing in the area to assist with player development. The younger teams will continue to focus on skill development and fostering a true passion for the sport.

The older girls will continue to advance their knowledge and ability to take their game to the collegiate level. The club’s U18 team will travel to several college showcase tournaments where they will get exposure to college coaches from all over the region. The end goal is college scholarships for the girls who want to play college soccer.

Buyer beware! “Spreading your wings” means that the St. Louis club wants nothing to do with you because of poor standards, failure to allow a review of your books, and lack of soccer development. As a parent, I feel like I’ve been misled…call the St. Louis office of JB Marine and get the real story. Parents, don’t let your child waste their time or your money. Be smart, you aren’t paying for creative writing, look for soccer credentials.

  2. Soccer Mom says:

    I congratulate Missouri Elite FC!

JB Marine- Springfield has proven to be a solid club with high moral standards, good players, good parents, and great coaches who actually care about their players. My daughter has played for this club since it began in Springfield. She has since guest played on teams from Kansas City and St. Louis, and is being seen at various college showcases by college coaches and recruiters. The coaches that I have dealt with in this club have taken a personal interest in my daughter, her soccer development, as well as encouraging her in her academic goals, too. This club is not a business to these coaches, players, or parents. It is a soccer club, an opportunity, and a chance for the players to enjoy the game they love, be instructed and directed by qualified coaches, and fulfill their soccer goals (like playing college soccer) within a positive and supportive environment. None of this important stuff has changed with club’s name change…only the name and the uniforms. I have tracked my soccer “account” from day one and have never found a discrepancy yet or paid a dime more than I expected in the beginning. This club was the perfect place for my daughter many years ago and has proven to be a great choice after all these years. Great job JB Marine and kudos to the new Missouri Elite FC.

I also congratulate Missouri Elite FC!

Both of my daughters have played for JB Marine Springfield since the beginning and we have been very happy with the coaches and the player development. We have always had very supportive coaches, parents and players. The fees have always be very reasonable and I have felt we have gotten alot for our money. All of the teams have proven themselves in tournaments and league play. I am very proud to be a Missouri Elite FC parent!!

  4. Proud Soccer Parents says:

Congratulations Missouri Elite! This is an exciting new step for the girls and the dedicated coaching staff. Missouri Elite’s coaching staff has been fantastic to work with and are very knowledgable and compassionate about the development of girls soccer in this area. Our daughters have been happy and successful with this club. We are confident that this will continue as they move forward playing for “Missouri Elite”.

  5. Soccer Dad says:

Ms. Jones, these girls have earned the right both on an off the field to have their own club name. The only thing JB St. Louis ever did was to rent us the use of their name each year. Never was there any coaching or camp training provided by the parent JB teams. Sounds to me like instead of being mislead, you may be a little upset because we are not paying 4k to use a name we do not need. Our coaching staff is top notch and you just have to see the development of the players to appreciate both player and coaching talent. My daughter has been with this group for the past 4 yrs. and never have I had a problem with the coaching or concern where the money paid is being used. These girls are not made to play for this club. They enjoy their teammates and coaches and a lot of the girls are like sisters. I know some of the girls have read the comment from Ms. Jones. This only added fuel to my daughter’s competitive soccer fire when she read it. Congratulations MISSOURI ELITE, go out and prove what kind of outstanding soccer players and young ladies each of you are.

  6. Bob Jordan says:

I was there at the beginning of JB Marine’s venture into Springfield, but I have not been involved with JBM since the first year.

“The only thing JB St. Louis ever did was to rent us the use of their name each year.”

In all fairness to JB Marine, that is not true. When JB Marine first came to Springfield, they were sending down trainers several times each week, running a summer camp, and club fees & uniforms were handled by folks in St. Louis. I know that at least one, if not a couple, of Springfield players were playing and training for JB Marine teams in St. Louis and Springfield.

JB ultimately withdrew support from Springfield and allowed Springfield to continue to use the name. I don’t know the terms of the arrangement. Obviously, JBM-Springfield has decided that the cost of using or licensing the name is no longer worth the expense and have re-branded themselves as Missouri Elite FC.

  7. SoccerDiva says:

My only question for Ms. Jones is who are you and why do you care? Are you a part of the JB Marine St. Louis club? Are you a part of the former JB Marine Springfield club? Or are you a part of a different club in the Springfield area whose only intent is to try to cast doubt upon the Missouri Elite FC out of jealously or fear or whatever? Healthy competition is good for all, having more than one soccer club in a town the size of Springfield is imporrtant, this stupid pettyness of who has the best club, who doesn’t deserve to be in town, is just that, STUPID.
Clubs change names, coaches switch clubs, players switch clubs – ALL THE TIME. Why does Ms. Jones want to try to make this such a bad thing, when there are other clubs in town changing leadership and names on many occasions.
As a soccer player, I am proud to be part of the Missouri Elite FC, just as I was to be part of the JB Marine Springfield SC! Our players have the “credentials” that prove them to be top notch, competitive players, both past and present.
To make these accusations, Ms. Jones really seems bitter for whatever reason. But to air false accusations on this site is immature and irresponsible. The parents and players of Missouri Elite FC know the “credentials”, know the quality of both coaches and players, and don’t worry about lies being spread by people like Ms. Jones. It is sad to me that someone who appears to have some connection to the sport would decide to post such a comment and not be able to back it up. Maybe your daughter was cut from a team, maybe she didn’t make the team – still no reason to try to spread rumors on a soccer website. Grow up and be happy for the club, the players, and the competition it will continue to bring to the springfield area.

  8. Hogan says:

Bob, You are exactly correct. When JB came into the area, they were a blessing. The training and contacs they brought were a great way to build soccer in SWMO and I thank them for that. After a few years, the contact became less as the parent club has some administrative issues and that is when the Springfield area crossed over to licensing the name. Being with the club since inception, I am very proud and thankful for their help and believe they created amazing opportunites for the the SWMO area and started a base for the players to grow and finally be ready to stand on their own.
