Missouri High School Girls Soccer: Class 1 Quarterfinals

Springfield Catholic – 2
Southern Boone Eagles – 1
Sophomore Natalie Smid scores early in the 1st half, and later assists Jessica Bowman who scores in the 26th, helping to send Catholic to the Final 4 for the first time since 2002.

Southern Boone gets a goal by captain Tillie Bill in the 68th minute. The Eagles were the only public school of the eight remaining teams in Class 1 soccer.

Catholic advances to the Final Four in Fenton, MO June 5-6, facing the winner of Whitfield vs Trinity in the semifinals.

From the Boone County Journal: Eagles coach Chris Miller has seen Springfield Catholic play twice this year, including their 7-1 district title win.

“They are a very good team, but I we won’t do anything special for them,” Miller said. “It would be unfair to the girls on our team to ask them to play a comletely different game than what we have worked to hard to do this season. We will go there and play hard and be who we are. We may tweak something here or there as we have for other teams, but we won’t make any major changes.”

St. Vincent (17-5) –
Lutheran North (10-8) –

Barstow (11-9) –
St. Pius X (Kansas City; 15-8-1) –
