5th Annual Nixa Soccer Club Camp

Nixa, Missouri – The Nixa Soccer Club (NSC) will be hosting its fifth annual summer soccer camp on June 8-11, for both boys and girls, at the Nixa Community Center soccer fields. Camp sessions for ages 6 to 10 will be from 5:30-7:15. Older youths, ages 11–16, will have their sessions from 6–8 p.m. on the same fields.

The NSC camp will be for soccer players at all skill levels, including those with no competitive soccer experience to top club and high school level players.

“Splitting the camp by age groups will provide a lower coach to camper ratio, which will result in more quality time with campers,” stated Tim Sterling, president of the Nixa Soccer Club. Camp coaches include licensed local high school and competitive club coaches, along with technical training assistants being made up of local high school and college players. The club coaches at the camp have produced several league and tournament championship teams over the past few years.

“We even have tentative agreement with a college coach who has agreed to come and discuss college options, opportunities and expectations,” stated Sterling.

Sterling said the camp will give soccer players an opportunity to improve their skills while training with the best youth players from Nixa. “There will be an emphasis on footwork and skills for individual improvement, plus small sided games and scrimmages for tactical development,” said Sterling, who also coaches several NSC teams. “The goal is to create a camp where the kids have fun while becoming better players.”

Camp cost will be $55. Each additional sibling can attend for $35 each. Prizes will be awarded to contest and game winners. All participants will receive a camp T-shirt, if they register no later than June 1st.

“The camp is fun. It is a great value. You will meet and play with the best local soccer players. It will help prepare you to play at a higher level including high school or college,” said Sterling.

Nixa Soccer Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting soccer and the associated benefits of participating in ongoing physical activity. The club has created an avenue for youth wanting to participate in soccer at a high level that did not exist in the community previously.
