Missouri High School Girls Soccer: Class 2 District 5

Bolivar Liberators – 3
Warrensburg Tigers – 0
Senior Jody McFarlen scores a pair and Jonna Welch gets one as the Liberators win their first District title. There’s a good write up on the game at the Warrensburg website, also a good representation of what a good team website can be.

This is the first District title ever for the Lady Liberator’s and they now advance to the Quarterfinal in Warrensburg a week from Thursday. They face the winner of Notre Dame de Sion vs Pembroke Hill game. And they’ll have some out-of-town support in their pursuit of a State Championship berth as both Harrisonville and Warrensburg have commented on their sites.

As Warrensburg wraps up their season, read a bit further into their website to learn more about their Pink Game.

“Our kids chose SPX as the Senior Night and Pink game opponent as they knew they would get to play a great team that would bring out the best in us. They also respect the class that SPX, Coach Ashby, and their supporters bring to the field.”

“Pink it Up! was a great success. When all the contributions are entered in we’ll finalize how much we raised for the Johnson County Cancer Foundation (over $5000 according to Coach Thompson). SPX became a part and raised $1,300 at their school for our cause, which is incredible. Our school and community embraced the cause and we are extremely thankful.”

  1. …and Pembroke went down in flames 4-0 vs Notre Dame deSion (NDDS). NDDS has a great attack with precision passing. They close quickly on the ball as soon as they transition to D so you have to keep it to one or two touches or you’ll feel instant pressure. The schedule for sectionals show 5/28 at 6:00 PM in Warrensburg (how ironic). I’ll be there for sure rooting for Bolivar. Go Liberators! :-)

  2. way to go ladies great game last night. hope to be able to go next thurs/
