Thursday High School Girls Soccer Report

LogRog Wildcats Win 3-1 vs COC foe Carthage Tigers
Logan-Rogersville Wildcats – 3
Carthage Tigers – 1
Najee Donson scores a hat trick, with one in the first half and two in the second, to bring the Wildcats back from an initial deficit. The first was a hard shot from the right side that slipped in just over the outreached hands of the goal keeper. The second was a breakaway and the third was a very nice shot from the top of the box. The Wildcats were pressuring the Tigers and when Michelle Crawford slid a ball from the left to Najee, she was able to touch it, turn and bury a shot just inside the upright. Carthage freshman Jessica #13 scored 17 minutes in when she won a 50/50 ball and broke into the box. The Wildcats honored senior Crawford at halftime tonight, the final home game of their first season.

Parkview Vikings – 4
Willard Tigers – 0

Nixa Eagles – 3
Waynesville Tigers – 2
2 Goals by Ashlyn Robillard and 1 by Kelsey Bartell. Courtney Frerichs 2 assists, Shelby Zielke with one.

Bolivar Liberators – 7

A trio of Liberators scored a pair of goals tonight, with Jody McFarlen, Jonna Welch and Sarah Magana. Majesti Rash chipped in as well.

Rolla Bulldogs – 1
Union – 0

Lebanon Yellowjackets – 7
Central Bulldogs – 0
Katie Harril (1), Chelsea Lefors (2), Emily Boyer (2) and Abby Zimmerman (2) score for the Yellowjackets

Camdenton Lakers - 3
Sacred Heart – 2
Senior Night at Camdenton and Camdenton’s sole senior Stephanie Kirvan (23 goals) scored the game winner late in the second half as Sacred Heart fought back after being down 2-0 to tie it up midway through the second half off of a free kick and a header from a corner kick. Latea LaRue scored her 26th goal of the season early in the first half and freshman Danielle Brooks scored Camdenton’s second goal in the first half.

Springfield Catholic Shocks Large School Foe, Glendale Falcons
Springfield Catholic – 2
Glendale Falcons – 1
Jeni Frewin, pouncing on a flicked on ball that got over the Catholic defense finally, curled her shot beyond the keepers reach in the 30th to give the Falcons the lead.

Catholic had two very good opportunities in the final 5 minutes of the half. Natalie Smid’s hard shot from the left, after winning a battle inside the box, was parried out as sophomore Jacinda Lemons reacted well to make the save. The second found the Irish with several touches in the box before a final shot over the crossbar.

The second half hasn’t seen many opportunities for either team but Catholic converted theirs. After Courtney Devlin wins a corner kick in the 72nd minute, Erin Fitzgerald’s corner kick went directly to Bekah Bade who was unmarked at the far post. Lemon’s came out but it fell just beyond her reach and Bade’s header was direct and solid. Despite the tie, it seemed that Catholic was the team with a sense of urgency, possibly recalling the OT and PK’s from last years match. Their hard work was rewarded when Carson Baron’s set piece from midfield fell beyond the 18 yard box where Andrea Parker slid to hit the ball just before the keeper arrived.

An enjoyable game, won by a very deserving side who played hard for the entire 90 minutes.
