Well, Southwest and Central Missouri are shut out in the voting for Class 3. Probably an accurate assessment of comparable quality this year. The best team I’ve seen this year is Eureka and I heard that the Liberty team, when they have their National team players, could be unstoppable.

    Class 2

Rank Team Points
1 St. Dominic (10) 100
2 St. Francis Borgia 78
3 Smithville 73
4 Notre Dame de Sion 62
5 Cape Notre Dame 49

8 Notre Dame (STL) 28
8 Platte Co. 28
10 Westminster 21
Others: St.Charles West 16, Villa Duchesne 10, Visitation 7, Kearney 5, Bolivar 1

Bolivar gets at least one vote, following their recent District seeding. I’ll have to dig into who the winner might face in the Quarterfinals. Does anyone know? UPDATE – from Brett in Smithville, he notes that the other side of the bracket will likely be defending champions Notre Dame de Sion in District 6.

    Class 1

Rank Team Points
1 Springfield Catholic (3) 91
2 Principia (5) 89
3 Trinity (2) 86
4 Greenwood 60
5 St. Vincent-Perryville 55
6 Sacred Heart 36
7 Barstow 30
7 St. Pius X (KC) 30
9 Southern Boone 29
10 Whitfield 19
Others: Bishop LeBlond 10, Orchard Farm 9, St. Pius X (Festus) 2

Woo hoo. Springfield Catholic returns to #1, probably the first time since their teams in 2003/2004 timeframe. Greenwood continues at #4. The new 3 Class set up does open up the play quite a bit. I wonder if I can catch a Trinity game next time I visit Mom in North County, do a bit of scouting :) And

Comments

  1. Chris West says:

Boliver would play defending champions Notre Dame de Sion in the Quarterfinals.

  2. CrazySoccerPlayer says:

Who says Boliver is going to win Districts….what about Harrisonville or Warrensburg. Harrisonville just defeated Pembroke 1-0….In my opinion you don’t give Harrisonville soccerf enough respect. (record 12-2)

  3. Ryan Toombs says:

Nobody said they were a lock.. the article asks “who the winner might play.” It doesn’t ask who Bolivar will play. It is just speculation for a team that is actually from the springfield area. I’m pretty sure a Kansas City soccer sight or newspaper would rather speculate in Harrisonville’s favor. Just a thought…
