Thursday’s High School Girls Soccer Report

Parkview Vikings Win At Home Against Waynesville Tigers
Parkview Vikings – 1
Waynesville Tigers – 0
The Vikings got their goal from the always reliable Jess Maerz early in the 1st half. Jess collected a defensive clearance in the offensive end and sent a hard shot from about 25 yards out into a corner of the net. That goal, and hard defensive effort led by sophomore McKenzi Payton, allowed the Vikings to get the Ozark Conference win this evening. The Tigers, who recently welcomed their emotional captain Erica Combs back from an early season knee injury, put continuous pressure on Parkview for the final 20 minutes of the game but were never able to penetrate the defensive shell thrown up by the Vikings.

Nixa Eagles – 8
Carl Junction Bulldogs – 0
The Eagles won with a balanced scoring attack from 7 different players. Goals were scored by Kelsey Bartell (2), Vicki Rische, Ashlyn Robillard, Rachel Murphy, Katie Bolton, Brooke Rowden, and Kristin Miller. The win moves their record to 13-6-1. This sets a new single season wins record for the program.

Carthage Tigers – 3
Joplin McAuley – 1
Carthage gets a pair of goals from Jessica Diaz, in the 15th and 65th, and a goal by Jamileth Henriquez 25th to get past their Western neighbor.

Camdenton Lakers – 5
Joplin Eagles – 0
Camdenton junior Latea LaRue scored 3 goals while freshmen Kayla Utley and Abbey Herfurth each scored one. Sandra Shore and Jessica Colliver shared a half each in goal for the shutout.

Marshfield Blue Jays – 3
Dixon Bulldogs – 1
Marshfield rebounds after tough loss to Rogersville Tuesday. Kylea Ryser scores twice and Alex Cantrell scores one.

Willard Tigers -
Central Bulldogs -

Branson Pirates – 1
West Plains Zizzers – 0
The Pirates relied on junior Neva Raschel on senior night to get the win. The goal came in the 79th minute (stoppage time) on an evening that saw both teams play strong games, based upon lessons learned this season.

Kickapoo Chiefs – 10
Hillcrest Hornets – 0

Glendale Falcons – 1
Lebanon Yellowjackets – 0
For the second night in a row, the Falcon’s get a game-winner from their freshman midfielder, Molly Brewer, this time assisted by senior captain Emily Jordan. With the win the Falcon’s are now 8-0 in the Ozark Conference. The Chiefs are 8-1 having completed their Conference games. Next Monday’s game at Camdenton will thus decide if the Falcon’s are sole Conference champions or if they will share the title.
