Missed this earlier, but Gordon Henderson resigned in November after 5 years as Head Coach of the Razorback program. The school has found what appears to be an excellent replacement in Erin Aubry
Aubry was hired Dec. 23, 2008, to become the seventh head coach in Razorback soccer history after serving the past four seasons at the helm of the Morehead State soccer program. She guided the Eagles to the 2008 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament title and an NCAA Tournament bid. Aubry has prior SEC experience with stints as an assistant coach at Auburn and Ole Miss.
“I want to start by saying how excited I am,” Aubry said. “I want to thank the University of Arkansas, specifically Jeff Long and Jon Fagg. They have given me great confidence to be the next leader of Arkansas soccer.
Aubry is the seventh head coach in school history and will inherit a Razorback team that finished 11-8 last season, after a school-record 9-1 start. Arkansas hasn’t advanced to the SEC Tournament since 2000.
Prior to her coaching career, Aubry had a successful playing career at Northwestern University. As a member of a first-year program in 1994, the midfielder helped the Wildcats advance to four Big Ten Tournaments and two NCAA Tournaments (1996, 1998) during her career. She was co-captain of the 1998 Northwestern squad that posted a 16-5-1 mark and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament before falling 1-0 to eventual national champion Florida. In her senior season (1998), Aubry was selected as the recipient of the Coach’s Award for outstanding leadership.
