While regional and state recognition is slowly filtering out for the recently completed High School soccer season, the U18 Boys team at Springfield Soccer Club has jumped headlong into their Club season already. The team has just returned from Dallas where they participated in the adidas College Showcase Tournament that was held in conjunction with the NCAA Final 4 tournament.
It was a fruitful trip, with the team going 2-0-1 in Group play and then defeating Tulsa TSC ‘91 in the Final to earn the Group title. The result comes on the heels of their Group win at the Select Germantown Invitational at Memphis the weekend prior. Both events were U19 Tournaments.
The Championship results at Memphis and at Dallas have catapulted the boys into a #2 National ranking on the GotSoccer.com website. Including one spot ahead of the Everest squad out of Ohio that defeated them in the Region 2 semifinals last June, enroute to the Regional title.
The team added three players this season, with Dane Knapp (Parkview), Trevor Pedigo (Kickapoo) and Jordan Pitts (Glendale) joining the squad. Congrats and continued success!
