A tie game early at 1-1, with David Bailey scoring the initial goal for the Irish. They turned up the pressure late in the first half when senior Cullen Barr turns the left corner and as his defender struggles to keep up, slips his shot to the far post as he enters the 6 yard box for the eventual game-winner. Barr scores a second in the 75th when Justin Bowenschulte nodds a ball into the path of his diagonal run into the box. Barr blasts his shot past the keeper as he holds off a defender. Catholic take 3rd place.
Wonderful Year Catholic! It is great having another soccer power in SW Missouri. Springfield is slowly, but surely making our presence felt on the state and national soccer scene. Look forward to seeing you guys continue next year. What an awesome accomplishment for a new program.
