After ringing a shot off the crossbar, the Falcon’s lost on Tim Griffin’s goal in the 87th minute (pictured). Leland Ekstam went high to win a header that sent Griffin in on the left side, beating one two defenders before slotting his shot to the near post under the on-rushing keeper.

  1. [...] The Championship match was between Parkview and Eureka, which was the third game of the weekend for both teams. With Eureka well rested coming off a 4-0 win, and Parkview tired from a 2-1 overtime victory, the Vikings looked a bit flat to begin the match. The score was 0-0 at halftime thanks to solid defense and goalkeeping, but in the second half the Vikings got on the board with about 20 minutes left in the match when Tim Griffin beat the keeper for his fourth goal of the tournament and a 1-0 lead. The Vikings controlled the majority of the second half with hard work and smart passing, but gave up goals in the 74th and 76th minute to lose and take second place in the tournament. [...]
