Three changes for the Class 2 District in Southwest Missouri. We saw that Willard and Carthage have moved up to Class 3. The Aurora Houn’dawgs have moved back into Class 2, after two seasons in Class 1 and Logan-Rogersville introduces their new program.

In Class 1, there are two Districts in the Region. For District 5, it looks like they have added three new teams, Cole Camp, Lincoln and Stover. The majority of these teams compete against each other in the Frisco League (Crocker, Dixon, Iberia, Laquey, Licking, Newburg, Plato, Richland, Stoutland) for basketball so this is a new battleground.

The biggest change for District 6 is the addition of a pair of Frisco League squads in Laquey and Richland, moving over from District 5. Both schools are located Northeast of Springfield, near the 150 mile marker on I-44 so Joplin – Springfield – Richland/Laquey will define the travel range.

I see that other districts in class 1 were changed too. Was it done for geography? or to get different teams to the finals. Pemroke was moved to class 2 but now Whitfield and John Burroughs are in the same district, and the 3 of them are in it nearly every year so maybe Springfield team or central MO team will have a shot at the state championship.
Who do you guys think will win Class 1 District 8, now that pembroke hill is gone?
