Beach Soccer

The FIFA 2008 Beach Soccer tournament is underway in Marseille France. The US Team didn’t qualify this year but Mexico and El Salvador are representing CONCACAF along with Brazil, Argentina and many of the other usual suspects are out. If you want to catch some highlights, here’s the place to do it.

On a related note, have you heard St Louis has a new Sand Soccer facility? It opened recently at the Khoury Fields complex, just South of the Anheuser-Busch Soccer Complex. Organized by All American FC, it’s played on a field that’s 30 yards by 40 yards with six players. I posted about a summer tournament in Chicago earlier, which would seem to be reason enough to get a facility and league going around here. Where should we do this?

UPDATE – I see that ESPN360 is showing games live almost daily this week. 7:30 am, should go great with your Honey Nut Cheerios before work!
