2004 Glendale Girls Season Video from oleolson on Vimeo.
If you’ve got half an hour, I thought I’d share with you the first season highlight video I had full responsibility for. I’d been shooting video and photos for a couple of Glendale boys seasons (2002 and 2003) while enjoying my nephews seasons and had contributed to the season ending highlight reels that were put together by the Booster Club. I decided to practice doing one myself for the Girls team in the Spring of 2004 in anticipation of handling the Fall 2004 video for the boys. The video above, which runs 31:40 in length, is the result. And of course, I went on to start this website the following Spring, so this years graduating class is the first I’ve followed for all four years of their HS career. Time flies.
By the way, you’ll see freshman like Laura McElroy and Mindy Neal for the Falcons and Whitney Hall for the Chiefs, as well as sophomores Rachel Lavoy and Afton Weimer for the Chiefs in this video. And of course, this is the season that Glendale graduate Ann Cook (Penn State assistant coach) was on the sideline for the Falcons.
Maybe I should bring the video camera to the District game tonight…

Something is not quite right with your comments. Mindy Neal and Laura McElroy graduated last year so this was the spring of 2003 and the graduating class of 2007 was the first class you watched all 4 years…your older than you think!:-)
Megan and Lorin started as first years so they were still at Pershing and Hickory respectively.
Rich,
I think your math is incorrect. Freshmen in the spring of 2004 graduated in the spring of 2007. Maddie Senkowsky, Brett Cantwell, Erin Creson, et al. were seniors during the 2004 season. I was looking for footage of the Glendale - Catholic game on the video hoping to see Andrea Skahan’s golden goal in the first overtime giving the Irish their first ever win over the Falcons.
I really enjoyed the video, Ole. It was great to see all those stars of a few years ago in action again! Thanks.
I guess it depends on what you consider the season, I’m still programmed to think of football seasons as starting in the fall (or autumn)…to me this would be the 2003 season…maybe it should be technically the 2003-2004 season, but yes I’m wrong this is spring 2004.
