PDL: Demize Fall in Opener

Colorado Rapids U23 – 2
Springfield Demize – 0
Updated, from The Demize: The Springfield Demize fell short in their 2008 home opener. The game was delayed 30 minutes due to the severe weather that was in the area. After the lighting cleared and the rain stopped a wet field and wind gusts of 40 mph awaited the two teams.

The game got off to a quick start with the Colorado Rapids capitalizing on an early breakaway. The goal in the eighth minute was all Colorado needed as the conditions proved too tough for a comeback.

“It was a hard fought game today,” Head Coach Armen Toinanse said, “our guys showed good intensity out there and just came out on the wrong end, we have a lot of work to do and look forward to our next opportunity.”
