It’s The Final Monday Game Report

On a gorgeous evening, the two North side squads faced off for the second time in 10 days with the final result, a one goal win for the Bulldogs, unchanged. The game-winner was scored by senior Becca Carter early in the second half, and came from a run down the middle, a shot and a deflection that favored the home team. It also favored the Bulldog seniors who were recognized at half time - Rebecca Carter, Sam DeArmon, Kristen Eagon, Jordan Griffin, Sarah Hoover, Dessa Loveland, Amanda Sheets and Tilly Wescoat. The Hornets pushed hard during the final quarter and both goal keepers came up with important saves in the final quarter.

Lebanon Yellowjackets - 3
Willard Tigers - 1
The Willard Tigers played a strong defensive game against Lebanon and were in the ball game until the 66th minute when a penalty kick gave the Yellowjackets a 2-1 advantage. As Willard pushed players forward in an attempt to find the equalizer, Lebanon was able to find net for their third goal of the evening.

The goals were scored by five different Lady Lakers. Alisha “Girdy” Morice scored the game winner 5 1/2 minutes into the match off of a cross from Stephani Kirvan. Just two minutes later defender Maria Civitate crossed in a ball from the right side that outside-mid Chelsi Libby found on the far post and tapped in. The third goal did not come until 30 minutes into the first half when Sandra Shore played a ball back up to the top of the 18 that Samantha Bartley connected on and found the back of the net. Sacred Heart came out fighting in the second half and it took the Lady Lakers 30 minutes to score their fourth goal when senior Meg Manzer went through 3 Sacred Heart defenders and scored from 15 yards out. Just two minutes later, sophomore Rachel Murphy scored her first career varsity goal off of a corner kick taken by Blaire Baker. Krista Murphy and Nichole Francisco each shared time in goal for the shutout.

Weekend Report - The Bulldogs participated in the Quincy Notre Dame tournament this past weekend, finishing 1-2 with the win coming against Bloomington (IL) Catholic. RHS now stands at 14-7 before the game in Sullivan tonight.
