Sigma Phi Epsilon - 2
Phi Delta Theta - 1
In a tightly contested match, it was Sig Ep who came away with the hardware Monday night. An early goal (while I was still in line at Taco Bell) gave the boys in gray the lead on the artificial surface on the Northeast side of campus. Playing 7v7, it was a fast and physical affair. Phi Delts tied the game in the 22nd minute (two minutes into the second half) on a direct kick taken from the far right side. Sig Ep had a pair of good chances midway through the final period, including a ball that went off the crossbar and a second from Ron Franklin’s tricky little ball that the goal keeper just barely pushed over the crossbar. Just minutes later another attack brought the ultimate game-winner as Sig Ep held on to win. If you look closely, you’ll see former Glendale striker Ryan Frewin representing for the winning side (back row, fourth from right).

As a Sig Ep from NWMSU (Missouri Lambda chapter), I’m quite excited to see them win that 7 v 7 contest. My purple and red heart is filled with pride.
