National Champs Mizzou Face KU This Weekend In Title Rematch

The Mizzou Men’s Soccer Club, 2007 National Champions, face a rematch of the Title game last November when they travel to Manhattan, KS for the Chartrand Memorial Tournament this weekend at Kansas State University. The tournament will showcase the two rivals Saturday. KU Team president Nick Allen is quoted in an article in the Daily Kansan

“K-State is really good, but Missouri is definitely the toughest and our biggest rival,” Allen said. “We definitely want revenge after our loss to them in the finals at Nationals. It should be a really fun game.”

There are three former Glendale Falcon’s on the squad, Jake Basecke and Brian Lindsey from 2005 and Sam Palmer from 2006. The article’s a good read, especially the last quote about the KSU fans. The Mizzou Maneater doesn’t have the game on their radar best I can tell so apparently it means a bit more to the KU fans. Who are you rooting for?
