Updated - I’ve added the Post Game Interview, Paige Blotter. In Windows Media Format.
Senior Paige Blotter calmly slotted her PK into the top of the net as the fifth shooter to give her team the much needed win this afternoon. The Chiefs went down 0-3 in the first half before getting a pair of goals late in the half to get back to 2-3. Freshman McKenna Adams tied the game (pictured) when she was waiting on the back half of the goal beat her defender to the loose ball that popped out of the goalkeepers hands on Chealsey Russell’s cross. Her tap in gave the Chiefs their first tie of the season. Her energy on the left wing also created the only lead the Chiefs have had this season when she followed teammate z intowon a ball deep in the left corner. Her back pass was then crossed into the box by Erica Freiert. Russell’s intelligent run allowed her to redirect the ball into the net in front of the GK in the six yard box.
The Mounties tied the game in the 70th minute on a wonderful run by their captain, who slipped past two defenders before slotting the ball to the near post late in the game. The Chiefs threatened but were unable to get the winner in regulation while Jessica McCutcheon withstood several significant challenges in the second half.
After winning Friday by netting 3 of 5 PK’s, the Mounties got goals from the 1st, 2nd and 5th shooter, only to see the Chief’s bury 4 of the 5, including Blotter’s final effort. Pictures and a video interview with Paige will follow.
From the NWArkansas paper
The Lady Mounties (10-3 ) jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead after the first 10 minutes but the Lady Chiefs rallied. Megan Dougherty had three goals during regulation and Liza Eppley scored the other in the nonconference loss.

The freshman that tied the game was McKenna Adams.
Chealsey Russell’s goal was assisted by Erica Freiert, I think.
Actually, the Chiefs were not down 0-3. After a ver early 0-2 deficit, Mallory Williams connected to make it 2-1. Rogers did go up 3-1 shortly after, but then the Chiefs scored three straight to take the lead 4-3.
