The Waynesville Daily Guide is reporting that the soccer fields near the old Waynesville Middle School were flooded this week. The backstops are all gone and the field markings are wiped out; due to the water damage, the fields won’t be playable for days and possibly for weeks.
“Games are cancelled for a while since we no longer have soccer fields; we have a big lake,” Bishop said. “We’ll just have to wait until the water has receded and see how much damage has been done.”
The Middle School is located near the Roubidoux River which flows below I-44. The High School fields are located up the hill and are unaffected.
