I’m happy to announce another regional Club is now being hosted by Springfield Soccer. The Xtreme Soccer Club, based in Nixa and serving girls in Christian County and Southwest Missouri, has joined the growing group of teams who receive free web-hosting and support as part of my commitment to growing the game in Southwest Missouri.

Just what we don’t need, another girls soccer club in S.W. MO. Our number of girls that will truly commit to “club” soccer and all that entails is already a truly limited number and this will take the 2 or 3 girls that are truly club soccer players at each level and have them play with teams that are in reality recreational soccer teams and I truly believe in Nixa and at Lake Country that market is already well represented. It comes down to income and there is always another coach that needs to make some money to the true detriment of ” girl’s club soccer” in S.W. MO
From the Xtreme website - We have teams in the U14, U12, U10, U9 (two) and U8 divisions. We pride ourselves on affordable and well coached teams. Most all our coaches are volunteers, which keeps costs down for you!!
I don’t know all of the details on the Club set up but the majority of my contact with them has been focused on the Youth level (younger than high school) which seems to be reflected in the information above I copied from the website.
I wish the girls club results were closer to what we are seeing from the boys club results. To reach that goal I think we need more programs in the local communities offering quality soccer training and attracting the young athletes that might otherwise play basketball, volleyball or softball. I hope the Xtreme see continued growth in Christian County.
The Xtreme club is not “another girls soccer club.” It has been in existance for quite some time. The only thing new about it is that it is now being hosted on the web through Springfield Soccer.
