Lance Parker, a Missouri State product vying for a developmental contract (he signed), played both games in the nets for Chivas USA, which took a 2-1 lead against TFC with a goal by Ante Razov after Kiki Musampa had equalized into his own net.
Parker conceded only a 30-yard Dwayne De Rosario rocket against the Dynamo. Arnaldo Salazar headed a corner kick off the goalpost and a Justin Braun shot was cleared off the goal line as Coach Preki used 17 players, with Braun starting up top alongside Atiba Harris. Salazar hit the post about eight minutes after replacing Braun.
