Dan Schmidlin was hired as coach of the Central Methodist men’s and women’s soccer programs on Friday. Schmidlin was promoted after spending the 2007 season as the assistant soccer coach.
Schmidlin played soccer at Muskingum College, where he was a four-year letter winner as a defender and midfielder. His coaching career included a three-year stint as the assistant coach at Springboro High School in Ohio and various club teams, and he is an active coach in the Olympic Development Program.
The Eagles are an NAIA team that competes in the Heart of America Conference (HAAC) that feature several local players, including Kyle Bishop (Cassville 2006) and Kyle Martin (West Plains 2007) on the men’s rosters and goalkeeper Christina Ogden (Catholic 2007) on the women’s roster.
