The hard work and effort, begun days after the High School season ended, paid off as the U17 Boys squad reached the Semifinal stage at the Disney Showcase, losing 1-0 to Region III Champion TSC Texans. Four games in four days is a difficult task, but once again the boys opened eyes as they finish a wonderful 2007 year. They enter Spring 2008, their key college recruiting season, with the big Mo’.
On a related note, Lou Fusz Popovic’s U17 squad reached the finals of the Copa White Bracket against GSA PHOENIX 91 RED (GA) They lost 1-2 in this less competitive group.
The STL boys defeated Yankee United Real (CT) 5-0, Birmingham United Jets Blue (AL) 1-0 and tied RSL Florida 2-2 in group play. They beat Springfield Youth Jr Royals (VA) 3-2 in the semifinal to reach the Final.
